For now, in the initial stage of Norzi Home, we offer two trekkings in Dorphu. The first one is a easy trekking that will let you discover the valley through a walk alongside the river Dorphuchu, while the second one is a trekking for beginner-intermediate level trekkers that takes you to a lake in one of the “daughter-valleys” of Dorphu.
For every trekking, we reach the starting point in Dorphu by car (12 km, 20 min ride) from the homestay in Karsa Village.
I. Denlek Kyi Walk
The destination of this hike is Denlek Kyi (དེའུ་ལེབ་སྐེད།), literally “the waist of the flat hill”, a spring nomadic site where a group of old nomad huts remain, surrounded by wooden fences. Along the trail, we walk alongside the river and pass through free yaks herds and conifer trees, where ludak (རླུང་རྟ།), “wind horse” flags, are hung. After approximately one and a half to two hours, we cross an old wooden bridge and arrive at Denlek Kyi. There, we have a simple meal and spend some time relaxing, appreciating the nature, taking pictures, or playing a few games. In the early afternoon, we head back, with the peak of Dorgyal Munam accompanying us on our right.

II. Tsotra Ma Trekking
Tsotra Ma (མཚོ་ཁྲ་མ།), literally “multicolored lake”, is one of the most stunning lakes in Dorphu, located in the Tsoku Valley. We will walk for about two and a half hours along the hiking trail, making our way up through the small Tsoku Valley. Once we reach the lake, we will gather on its shores for a simple meal and share nomadic stories and legends about Tsotra Ma. We will then walk back down for two hours, keeping our eyes on the path while also taking in the beautiful landscape of the valley, crossed by the Dorphuchu River, from a higher viewpoint.
